GivSing Tuesday is coming!

We all know about Giving Tuesday, which has been around since 2012…but at Heartland Sings, your donations allow us to, well, SING. In other words, we are calling this year’s initiative GivSing Tuesday, and it is coming up soon: November 28, 2023.

Together We Give.

Giving Themes:

Our November giving theme is "A Grateful Groove", as we reflect on all we have to give thanks for: the freedom to elect our public officials; our veterans, who served that we might have that freedom; the beauty of the autumn season. And we have Thanksgiving itself, when we express gratitude for our family and friends. Please consider a November gift to Heartland Sings, perhaps in honor of someone for whom you are grateful.
(Hint: GivSing Tuesday would be a great day to do it!)

Our December giving theme is “Heartland Sings for the Season”, which is also the name for some of the repertoire our busy Principal Artists and Part-time Vocal Artists will be singing. What goes better with the holiday season than a sleigh load of holiday music? Please consider a December gift to Heartland Sings, perhaps in honor of one of our Vocal Artists, as December is a “briskly paced” month for them, to say the least.

Fran Page

Faithful support from individual donors allows us to serve this community in many ways, one of which is our ability to pay our part-time vocalists. We are providing work for musical artists, and our patrons have the benefit of enjoying larger choral works. Thank you for blessing us with your gifts!

Our Music of the Americas concert in October featured musical styles from South, Central, and North America. Instruments included percussion, guitar, mandolin, harpsicord, and bass. Fran Page was honored on the occasion of her retirement from Heartland Sings after 26 years of service.

We are fortunate to have a multicultural staff at Heartland Sings. Through conversations and activities, we are learning about each other’s heritages and familial traditions. Recently, we assembled an “ofrenda” to mark Día de Muertos, an important annual commemoration in Latin American countries and Mexico. Principal Baritone Antonio Azpiri isfrom Mexico City, and the ofrenda is significant for him and his family because it is a time for families to gather and honor loved ones who have passed away. These cultural connections enrich us as individuals, thus allowing usto have more meaningful interactions with people in the community

Heartland Sings is excited to announce that we are participating in this year’s Festival of Trees at the Embassy Theatre. Look for our tree, themed “T’was the Spirit of Christmas” while you’re there. Our thanks to Karl Behrens and BND Commercial for underwriting this event!
