President’s Pen: Annual recap

President Bob Nance addresses the crowd at the annual meeting held in August.

AsI reflect on the past year, I am so grateful for our generous donors, grantors, and corporate sponsors who make what we do possible. Contained in this annual report is a digest of all that we have been about this year, thanks to you. We impacted the region with performances such as Sondheim Café to Splashes of Color, with our educational outreach, with lessons and vocal workshops in our studio, with the Vocal Arts Conference, and with our ART-VTM mobile performances. I think you will agree this has been an amazing year!

Our strategic plan for Heartland Sings is unfolding as expected. We have hired more vocal artists for our educational programming, we have renovated part of our headquarters to include a new education space with a state of the art audio/video production studio, and we are poised to increase our reach into the community guided by our diversity goals and objectives.

As I head into my penultimate year as President and Artistic Director, I am very excited for our 27th season, and for the future of Heartland Sings, because we have wonderful donors and artists. We have a diverse and exciting lineup planned, featuring Music of the Americas, the return of Celtic Landscapes, our 10th Anniversary Spirit of Christmas show, and A Night at the Opera. The future of Heartland Sings is before you in our season concerts, educational programs, ART-VTM outdoor performances, and more. Thank you for being a part of the future of Heartland Sings, where donors and artists come together and we continue Changing Lives Through Song!
